The Hon. Doug Black (PAR Co-Chair)
The Honourable Doug Black, Q.C. is an elected Alberta Senator.
Doug Black formerly practiced law and served as a board member or advisor to several Canadian businesses. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2002 and was named in 2012 as one of Canada’s most influential lawyers by Canadian Lawyer Magazine.
Doug Black has served as Chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Calgary, Chair of the Capital Campaign for the Banff Centre, Governor Emeritus of the Banff Centre, and was founder or co-founder of Lakecrest School in St. John’s, the Energy Policy Institute of Canada, and Alberta 2.0.
He lives in Alberta with his wife and together they have two married children and five grandchildren.
