David Chavez is appointed as vice-president of Entrepreneur & Enterprise Development, Innovate Calgary

Innovate Calgary is pleased to announce the appointment of David Chavez as vice-president of Entrepreneur & Enterprise Development (EED). Bringing over 20 years of experience building and leading technology organizations, David will lead the team that delivers programs and services to entrepreneurs, researchers, start-ups, and enterprises.
Prior to joining Innovate Calgary, David led research and development (R&D) and product management teams in Canada and China for Nortel and Ericsson, leading global suppliers of telecommunications and networking gear.
“David is an experienced executive leader and will be instrumental in enabling Innovate Calgary to guide entrepreneurs and enterprises as they become successful, sustainable businesses,” says Peter Garrett, president, Innovate Calgary.
EED works to advance entrepreneurs from inspiration to commercialization. This is a key component of Innovate Calgary’s goals of supporting economic growth in Alberta as well as fostering collaboration in the innovation ecosystem.
“This team has effective strategies in place, with its programs and ability to leverage community networks, including private sector organizations, creating high value for our clients,” says Chavez. “I look forward to applying my experience and background to turn these strategies into solid execution and delivery.”
