Finding ways to take care of yourself amidst the demands of a high stress role or running your own venture is beyond important. If you burn out, what is the true cost? We’re here to tell you that you don’t need to put your head down and grind it out. There are ways to lessen the (emotional) load without taking things off of your plate. In this virtual course facilitated by Collectively Tangled’s mental health professionals, over three sessions (six hours total), you’ll learn tangible skills and strategies for better coping with stress alongside other entrepreneurs, innovators, or simply those looking to increase their own capacity. Topics will include: - Understanding your individual stress response system: why it exists, how it works, and what it looks like for you; - Understanding the difference between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and better acknowledging and articulating the emotions that you are experiencing; - Identifying your buffers (or coping strategies) that you use depending on the intensity of your stress response, with a focus on what works and when to use it (we’ll also fill in some gaps if you don’t yet know what buffers work best for you); - Better communicating where you are at and what you need with those around you, including family members, co-founders, teams, friends, coaches, and capacity builders; - Using mindfulness to better understand and recognize your feelings (so that you can effectively move through them).
