Startup Essentials: Startup 101

Let's start with the basics. Learn startup terminology, customer discovery and craft an elevator pitch. Startup 101 sets you up for success whether you are starting or joining a startup.
Raising Capital 101
- Cohort 2 Dates: October 9, 24, 31, November 6.
- Platform Members: $0, Non-Members: $49 + GST
- In-person at the Platform Innovation Centre
Raising Capital 101 is for founders who are looking to learn more about the investment process or are ready to raise funds and want to know where to focus.
The Peer-to-Peer Program
- 2 hours once per month, ongoing
- No cost. Open to Platform Calgary Members only.
- In-person
The Peer-to-Peer Program connects individuals managing the same portfolios at tech companies, helping them with collaborative problem-solving, networking, and knowledge sharing.
10X Future Founders Scholarship
- Awarded Spring 2024
- $1,000 cash scholarship
- Scholarship for students in Calgary and surrounding areas
Calling grade 11 students! We’re awarding 10 scholarships to students across Calgary who are passionate about pursuing tech, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Global Startup Visa
- 1 year
- CAD $30,000 + GST for one applicant and $5,000 for every added applicant up to five.
- Virtual & In-person
Platform Calgary’s Global Startup Visa program is for entrepreneurs from around the world who are looking to bring their innovative tech or tech-enabled businesses to Canada.

Land Acknowledgement
