Startup Essentials: Startup 101

Let's start with the basics. Learn startup terminology, customer discovery and craft an elevator pitch. Startup 101 sets you up for success whether you are starting or joining a startup.
Platform Incubator
- 12 Months, 2-4 hours bi-weekly.
- No cost. Apply by February 23, 2025. Next cohort begins April 2.

The Platform Incubator helps high-potential founders scale confidently with 12 months of structured guidance, coaching, and industry connections to accelerate their growth.
Raising Capital 101
- January 22 & January 29 | 1pm - 3pm MST
- $0
- In-person at the Platform Innovation Centre
Raising Capital 101 is the first step for founders who are planning to raise capital in the next 12 months or for those who are interested in exploring the investment process.
The Peer-to-Peer Program
- 2 hours once per month, ongoing
- No cost. Open to Platform Calgary Members only.
- In-person
The Peer-to-Peer Program connects individuals with same roles and responsibilities at local tech companies, providing them the space to network, problem solve, and share knowledge with one another.
10X Future Founders Scholarship
- Awarded Spring 2024
- $1,000 cash scholarship
- Scholarship for students in Calgary and surrounding areas
Calling grade 11 students! We’re awarding 10 scholarships to students across Calgary who are passionate about pursuing tech, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Global Startup Visa
- 8 Weeks of programming + 1 Year of support after arrival in Calgary. | Spring Cohort: Apply by March 17, 2025 (Starts April 22) | Fall Cohort: Apply by July 22, 2025 (Starts September 9)
- CAD $33,000 + GST for one applicant and $3,200 for every additional team member. Priority Processing via Canada’s Tech Network

Platform Calgary’s Global Startup Visa Program is a selective opportunity for high-potential international founders to establish their tech startup in Calgary with guidance and resources.
